What Is This Organization Coming To?

With 11 straight loses, I'm starting to think if it'll go onto forever. This is absolutely horrendous now. The team did play a little better last night, I have to admit, but they're spending way too much time in their own zone. Hunter just takes random slap shots, while most of the forwards just dump the puck in and stare at it.

The goalie rotation certainly doesn't help Rick DiPietro either..At all. I thought this guy is supposed to be trying to come back into his normal shape? It's probably kinda hard for him if he doesn't play on a consistent base.

This team really needs help up front big time. Moulson and Tavares combined have fourteen goals, while all the other teammates have one, two or three. The coaching change won't do anything for this team. Do you really think Capuanos going to give Tavares the hands of Kovalchuk? No. The Islanders needed top six talent up front but they failed to do so. To resign Gillies who hasn't played over five minutes probably this season was a bad idea don't you think?

I know some of you may be thinking it was a matter of who wanted to come here or not but if the Islanders offered the right money, of course it would of attracted more players to the Island.

And I'm sick of the "moving off the Island" crap. The Islanders ARE NOT going anywhere and if they do, it's not for another few years. It's just a threat from Wang to get his lighthouse. If they were to move to say Kansas, what are they going to be called? The Kansas Islanders? Just doesn't make sense. Even if they're being forced out of the Coliseum, they're going to stay on Long Island. I just can't imagine this team somewhere else. No fan base, probably few players, no nothing...Why would they move?

All I know is..If they don't get at least a win in the next four or five games, nothings going to change and we'll be looking forward to the first overall draft pick again...With our luck we won't get it even if we finish last.

Well I guess my credentials are being taken away after this post.. Oh wait it's only the truth.. Plus I don't have any.

  1. As a long time Islander fan, I can feel your frustration. It seems with their misdirected approach, from center ice to the back office, the real losers are the fans. To see a once proud franchise struggle so mightily, without the dramatic off-season "turnaround" moments... it's a wonder the 7000 or so people still bother to come out and watch the boys in blue and orange lose yet another game. Ultimately, the dragon is guided by the head, and Wang is simply incapable of spitting fire. It's time for a big shakeup. I would offer to buy the franchise, but I don't think I have the piggy back to pay for Yashin. At least he's having a great year...

  2. Thanks for the comment!

The problem is..This team fails to go out and spend money on top six talent up front. As you can see, we did indeed upgrade our d, but how in the world does it help up front? We need socring or this team's going to be 0-20 pretty soon.
