ISLANDERS VS COLUMBUS: BAILEY, MOTTAU OUT, HAMONIC, GILLIES IN

Make sure to stop by my live chat tonight by clicking the LIVE CHAT tab at the top of the page. I should have some guests joining me as well...It starts around 6:30.

Tonight Travis Hamonic will make his NHL debut filling in for injured Mike Mottau. He went from the WHL to begin the season in Bridgeport tallying 2 goals and 5 assists for 10 points. I would expect to see Hamonic here for a good amount of time as Mike Mottau will be out 4-6 weeks, according to Katie Strang. Capuano said that Hamonic would give the team a shot from the point as well as physical play which the Isles need at the blue line.

Also, Josh Bailey has been sent to Bridgeport on a loan. He played on the fourth line in practice aside Konopka, Martin and Gillies who probably will play tonight as a roster spot opened. If Bailey played one more NHL game, he would have to go through waivers before going to Bridgeport.

After a strong performance that kept the Isles in the game the other night in Atlanta, Rick DiPietro gets the nod between the pipes tonight.

The Isles desperately need a win tonight. But probably won't get one. Hopefully I'm wrong...
