Islanders/Senators Period Summary

1st period: Early in the first, the Islanders went on a five minute powerplay after Trevor Gillies was boarded, which turned into a little scrum broken up by the refs. They failed to score, and only registering three shots. They almost gave up a goal too. It seems like this team isn't stepping up at all, and they need to for these next two periods. The Isles gave up thirteen goals in just two games, and you can't say it's all DiPietro. They'll go into the second trailing a goal after Gonchar fired one past Roloson when he was wide open and no one was covering their goalie, again.

Twitter Feedback:

What do the Isles need to change for the second and third periods?

@NHLArenaNYIsles: Cohesiveness in their positioning and team D... they need that more than anything else. At least they're "only" down by one.

@Islandr22: Other than plexi glass or a brick wall in front of the net.. It won't matter who's in net.. Turnovers = shots, more shots = goals
