Martin and De Hann Gone

 Trevor Gillies

Today, all NHL teams were required to trim their roster down to 23 maximum. Doing so, the Isles sent Matt Martin to Bridgeport, and Calvin De Hann to Oshawa. As Chris Botta reports, Coach Scott Gordon says that they've added more depth to their defense then last year, and also that De Hann got off to a slow start but really picked it up in training camp.

No doubt Martin will be around this season, the Isles just had to send at least someone down to Bridgeport. He's going to get the chance to show he can play sometime this season. We all predicted the 4th line would be Martin, Konopka and Gillies. Instead, it appears to be Gillies,Konopka and Sim.

Recently claimed off waivers, Michael Grabner will sit out the first two games. I inference to get used to the system, and watch his new teammates play.
