Isles Defeat Avalanche 5-2 With Jurcina Netting First Two, and Grabner Gets First

The Isles came away with the win tonight, and that's all that matters. It started off with Jurcina firing one from the right point past Anderson. Then, on an angle, he put one on net and it went in. The Avs took a penalty and the Isles then capitalized again. Bailey came away with another goal with a nice move and netting it past Anderson.

Then, the Isles were on a 2-1 breakaway, I believe. It was PA Parenteau and Michael Grabner. Parenteau passed it over to Grabner and Grabner got his first goal as a New York Islander. That shows hard work pays off, and this kid can fly.

The Avs overall scored two, but the Isles came away with the win. John Tavares finished it off with the empty netter. Good to see him back after missing a few.

Also, something to point out, Trevor Gillies hasn't gotten much ice time this season. I don't understand why the Isles would resign him if they didn't plan on using him. He brings energy to the game and sticks up for what he calls his "little brothers" on the team.

The next test: The 4-0-0 Toronto Maple Leafs...

The Isles will make the trip to Toronto tomorrow early so players can reunite with their families. They'll play the 4-0-0 Leafs Monday night, and I can see DP getting the start, as long as Cooke doesn't bother him. (Haha)
