Training Camp Only Two Weeks Away

As first reported by Newsdays Katie Strang, some players were preparing a scrimmage at IceWorks this week. Even Chris Higgins stopped by to say hello and play and prepare for the upcoming season for him, being recently signed by the Panthers.

And of course, Okposo was on the ice. Haha. Anyway, we still don't have any speculation on names of players attending camp, and probably won't know for atleast a few more days. It's going to be great seeing the Isles getting back onto the ice and preparing for the season, but what's missing again? Oh yeah, that top 6 forward. Again, Snow failed to resume going after a foward. Do you think were going to get a top 6 forward at a camp "tryout"? No. All I heard was Fedatanko's name being thrown around, but his agent says that's not the case, and he won't be attending.

As you know, the Isles signed Weight to a one year deal. He says his shoulder feels great then it ever has in years. This doesn't mean we wont sign Guerin, but Guerin is working out and skating with the Flyers, possibly looking for a tryout. So, if he's looking for a tryout with the Fylers, he's most likely going to be looking for a tryout with the Isles. He could attend the tryouts with the Isles, and there still lies a chance the Isles will sign him, but I doubt it. What do we need him for? Even though he can find the back of the net, and it would be nice to see some veterans backing the youngsters up, I don't think we'll be seeing him in number 13 on LI again. Or not soon, anyway.

Butchy Goring, (as I predicted) will be calling the games with Howie Rose this season. Isles fans, are ya happy now? Are we ever gonna stop complaining about Jaffe's departure? He was a great guy, though.

  1. Nick, Billy is NOT coming back to Long Island! Dont even waste your time even mentioning his name. The Isles are building through youth. They are not gunna wast a spot for someone else on Bill Guerin.
