Scrimmage Aftermath

With the injury of Streit being the big news of the day there were some positives in the Saturday morning scrimmage.

Rick DiPietro looked much more like the DiPietro of old.  He moved well and seemed to play with confidence.  He made some mistakes being a little aggressive, but that should come back to him with time, just a good sign that he feels well enough to take risks.

Mikko Koskinen looked very strong in net.  Made some big saves especially on an extended 5 on 3.

Rhett Rakhshani had a very good game.  Looked strong on the puck and made some good moves.

Radek Martinek's 100 mph shot was a surprise.  Shoulder problems must not be bothering him anymore.

Jurcina's 101 mph shot may be something to sneak him into the top 6.

Blake Comeau picked up where he left off at the end of the season, and Trent Hunter scoring a couple goals was a nice sight.  P.A. Parenteau got to show in the breakaway relay why the Isles want to take a chance on him, he has a great pair of hands.

And I think Rick DiPietro must be reading the IslanderMania message boards, I think 99% of the people on there was to tackle Jon Sim.  DiPietro is always there for his fans.
