Day 3 Notes
-Andy Hilbert didn't practice today, he's listed day to day
-Rick DiPietro will have a planned day off tomorrow
-Rick DiPietro's birthday was today, he turned 29. Happy Birthday, DP!
-Jeremy Yablonski and Trever Gillies are best friends, as you know. He also used to be on a line with Isles captain Doug Weight on the St. Louis Blues. (Islanders website)

I don't know if anyone watched Hockey Night Live last night, or even knew it was on, but Butch Goring predicted that the Isles would finish 13th in the East. Chris Botta  brought this up, and I'm very glad he did. As I was reading his comments on that post, someone named Nick (what a coincidence) said "So Jaffe wasn’t positive enough so they canned him but Butch picks us to finish bottom five?".

I one hundred percent agree with him. The Islanders rejected Jaffe's contract apparently because of his "negativity" on the team. Okay, no problem. Billy Jaffe's gone. But now we have Butch Goring named the new color man and in his first appearance on T.V since getting the job, he predicts the Isles to finish 13th?

Now I understand why Isles fans went crazy over Jaffe's departure...

Feel free to comment with your lines, and your thoughts on Butch's prediction.
