K.O. skating in full gear, Capuano says still no time-frame for return

Earlier today, the Islanders released a tweet reading that Kyle Okposo, the star forward who suffered a shoulder injury back during the preseason, and underwent surgery to repair the torn labrum in October, "skated today for the first time in full gear” before today’s practice.

Okposo noted that it “felt really good” to be back out on the ice with his team. He also added that the hardest part about the injury was having to watch his team struggle while not being able to do anything about it.·“I don’t like watching my own team play,” Okposo said. “It’s frustrating. You know that it’s completely out of your control.”

And while this is a positive sign of progress, interim head coach Capuano was quick to warn that still, there is no set timetable for Okposo’s return to the lineup.
