BRUINS 5, ISLANDERS 2: Isles Drop 18/19

It's Rick DiPietro vs Tuukka Rask in goal tonight.

-
1st period: Radek Martinek went down after blocking a Zedeno Chara slap shot. It doesn't look well for Radek as he went down to the ice and stayed there. When he finally went off the ice, he was holding his left arm in the air where he got hit and there's no protection at all. Milan Lucic scored the only goal this period, and the Isles will go into the first intermission trailing 1-0.

2nd period: With great effort driving to the net by Frans Nielsen, he was taken down and awarded a penalty shot. Nielsen beat Rask gloveside and scored his second shorthanded goal of the year, both coming on  penalty shots. It's certainly a well deserved goal by Frans, but it doesn't get the Isles out of their recent scoring slump. But hey, I'll take it!

Scoring for the Bruins was Brad Marchand after DiPierto came out to challenge him but as DP was trying to clear it out, it hit Marchand and he put it home for the goal. But thanks to Dwayne Roloson's coaching, Nielsen added the goal for the Isles.

3rd period: The Islanders have now dropped 18 out of 19, holding a record of 5-16-5 with only 15 points in the eastern conference. Rob Schremp scored for the Isles but then the Bruins scored two empty net goals, sealing the game 5-2. Will it ever end in Islanders country?
